And flax in Russia was considered a \"female\" culture, because all the work with<br>flax, from sowing to harvesting and processing, was done by women. Even<br>peasant girls earned their dowry by working with flax. This concerned<br>not only linen products made by their own hands, but also income from linen yarn.
