A.<br>Rybakov, who emphasized, first of all, the saving functions of the geometric pattern. In his<br>opinion, the ornamentation of the spinning wheel as a whole \u00abexpressed the idea of day and night, the cycle of the day\u00bb.<br>B. A. Rybakov considers the huge \u00absolar circle\u00bb, dominating in the decoration of most North Russian spinning wheels<br>not as a symbol of the sun, but as a symbol of shining inexplicable \u00abwhite<br>light\u00bb. In the lower part of the Vologda spinning wheel blade was usually placed a schematic<br>image of the earth in the form of crossed squares, rhombuses and triangles, above it \u2014<br>a solar sign or a symbol of \u00abwhite light\u00bb (the Universe) with rays turned inward.
